The History of Tipton Interests

Tipton Interests traces its roots back to 1983 when Duke Realty executives, David Tipton and Bill Woodward formed Tipton Associates, Inc. to be a full-service developer. Over the years Tipton has developed numerous quality projects of all property types throughout the Tri-State region. Projects include the Wards Corner Business Center, Centennial Plaza, Northcreek Office Park, Adams Place Condominiums, Kenwood Galleria, and Pictoria Tower.

Tipton currently focuses on value-added opportunities in the marketplace as well as the management of its own and third-party properties. Tipton also maintains a strong construction capability with its affiliate company, Cincinnati Construction Management, which has operated as an independent subsidiary since 1993. In 1985 Rusty Myers joined Tipton upon receiving his MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University. Mr. Myers has headed the office development division of Tipton, been instrumental in all company financings, and is now co-owner of the organization.

William A. Woodward | President

Bill Woodward, President

Mr. Woodward has been President of Tipton Interest since its formation in 1983.  During that time, he has developed and constructed in excess of $500,000,000 in real estate properties throughout the Midwest.  Notable projects include Centennial Plaza I, II & III, Adams Place at Adams Landing, TriHealth Wellness Pavilion and the Wards Corner Business Center.  Mr. Woodward is an Ohio licensed professional engineer and is affiliated with many professional and civic organizations.  Mr. Woodward holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Valparaiso University and a Master’s Degree in Construction Management from the University of Missouri.

Bill is also President and owner of Cincinnati Construction Management, Inc. founded in 1993. Along with Tipton Interests, these two firms specialize in real estate development, construction management and building management.  Mr. Woodward has over 50 years’ experience in these areas, including 6 years as Vice President & General Manager of Duke Realty and 8 years as General Manager of the Cincinnati office of Fru-Con Construction Corp.

Rusty Myers | Vice President

Rusty Myers, Vice President

Rusty has 39 years of experience in the real estate industry and has been involved in real estate transactions with values exceeding $750,000,000. Notable projects include The Digital Futures Complex, The Tower at the Kenwood Collection, Redstone of Kenwood, 312 Walnut, The Center at 600 Vine, The Offices at Liberty Center, Newport on the Levee, Linden Pointe on the Lateral, Pictoria Tower, The Wards Corner Business Center, Twin Lakes of Montgomery, and Ridgewood Corporate Center. Representative tenant clients include Mayfield Clinic, Ohio GI, Life Enriching Communities, the University of Cincinnati, Omnicare, Citicorp Credit Services, Barclays, Harris Corporation, Tata Consultancy Services, Johnson Investment Counsel and PNC Bank.

Rusty holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Cincinnati and a Masters of Management degree from Northwestern University. He is a Trustee of the UC Foundation and past President of The UC Alumni Association, and has supported the UC Real Estate Program on the Board of Executive Advisors and as a past Chairman of the Real Estate Advisory Counsel and Real Estate Roundtable. Rusty was honored as the 2020 University of Cincinnati Distinguished Real Estate Service Award Recipient, the 2018 University of Cincinnati Distinguished Service Award recipient and as NAIOP’s Broker of the Year in 2008.

Claudia Connor | Senior Property Manager

Claudia Connor, CPM | Senior Property Manager

Claudia has over 30 years’ experience in commercial property management in the Greater Cincinnati area. She holds the Certified Property Manager (CPM) credential as awarded by the Institute of Real Estate Management. Claudia is a licensed real estate agent in Ohio.

Ms. Connor’s experience includes management for local and national Ownership groups of individual properties ranging from 4,500 square feet to 545,000 square feet. These product types include commercial properties including suburban office and industrial properties, as well as downtown high-rise office and garage operation.

Claudia’s property-level strengths include tenant relations and implementation of team and property operations. Her greatest client-level strengths include her ability to identify and implement Ownership goals as well as property financial planning and reporting.

Denise Hardy | Property Administrator/Property Accountant

Denise Hardy | Property Administrator/Property Accountant

Denise is a multi-talented individual and has been employed by Tipton since 1986 in many roles in addition to the above. Denise manages three Class A office buildings at the Wards Corner Business Center with responsibilities encompassing lease administration, service contract negotiations, tenant construction liaison, coordination of tenant service requests.

In the role of Property Accountant, Denise is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, balance sheet analysis, income statement review, month end close, monthly financial statements, reporting package preparation as required by various owners of real estate managed.

Sean Hoover | Maintenance Technician

Sean Hoover, Maintenance Technician

Sean has been employed by Tipton Interests for over 20 years. He is responsible for the in-house performance of minor electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs and light janitorial services for a four-building portfolio. Sean has excellent vendor relationship skills and is a valuable member of the team.
